In busy imaging suites and multi-user departments, demand for access to imaging software can often be greater than the facility can comfortably provide. Buying more dongle protected licenses is one answer, but with Improvision software there is a more flexible solution which is easy to manage and administer.

The Improvision License Server (ILS) has been designed to allow all the current Improvision software range to be accessed across a network. The ILS can administer any combination of multiple Volocity, Openlab and Phylum licenses to provide a total server solution.

Using the ILS system can result in higher productivity, greater resource efficiency and lower user frustration, as anyone on the network with a suitable computer can access the imaging tools they need from their own laboratory or office.

For the ILS system administrator, setting up password protected access for users is quick and easy, and getting usage reports for billing your users is simple.

Install the software and add the names of your Users. Collect your Users together into Groups if that's appropriate - a User can belong to one or more Groups, or no Groups.

Decide how to link your Volocity extensions or Openlab modules into Configurations. You may want to restrict your Groups to have access to only some of the features of the products, so choose which Groups can access which Configurations - give Groups and Users their own passwords to set their permissions.

The system usage time is recorded for each individual User, from the moment they log on, to the moment they log off, together with the amount of time spent using each part of the software. Times are displayed in hours, to millisecond accuracy.

Get Usage Reports on demand - choose the time period to view, and the statistics you need, by User, by Group and/or by software product. The Oversubscription report will tell you if a particular license or module is requested more times than it is available, which could help you to decide when it's time to purchase more software.
